HOW TO VOTE
The election will be held on Tuesday, November 5, 2024. Polls will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., and eligible voters will need a valid ID to cast a ballot.
Polling locations can be found on the Iowa Secretary of State’s website. Additional local election information is available through the Marshall County Auditor's Office.
If you are not registered to vote, you can submit a registration form to your county auditor’s office before October 21. You may also register on election day at your polling location.
Registered voters may request a mailed absentee ballot ahead of election day through their county auditor’s office. The first day voters could request a mailed absentee ballot is August 27. Ballots will be mailed starting October 16.
To receive a mailed absentee ballot, complete a request form and return it to the county auditor’s office. The deadline to request a mailed ballot is October 21. Ballots must be received by the auditor’s office before polls close at 8:00 p.m. on election day to be considered for counting.
In-person absentee voting will be available at the Marshall County Election Center starting on October 16. This is located at 107 S. 1st Avenue, in Marshalltown. Voting will be available weekdays from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. through Monday, November 4, and Saturday, November 2 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
